As a wee lad, John Wayne dying at the end of The Cowboys made me tear up... The first time I saw it.

I don't really cry at movies though, especially most modern or big spectacle ones. Your standard historical epics today are just melodramas pasted over with CGI and string quartets, instead of eliciting genuine emotion (Pearl Harbor was very guilty of this).

Though, there are some films that tug at Old Man Ray's heart strings. I won't admit to most of them, but I'll give this one: the end of The Shootist still gets to me. Always makes me think of my father.

Oh, and @Nigger John? The Critical Drinker is a fucking idiot anyway.

My favorite is when he mentioned such classic Japanese classics like Old Boy, Crouching Tiger, and Ong Bak or whatever.
Obviously he meant the manga. Clearly.

My grandfather cried at the beginning of The Conqueror. "That's not Ghengis Khan!"
