They're nearly all useless. 90%+ should never have gone into teaching. I did well in school, but mostly because I taught myself and found tutors for some stuff.
My French teacher was in her 50s and wore mini skirts that showed off her leathery skin. She was gross. We called her Wrinkles, or Wrinklebitch. I can't remember, we had so many names for her. She hated boys so there was no point even being in her class.
My maths teacher didn't understand calculus and made some stupid analogy about cracking an egg that didn't make any sense. I don't think she understood that calculus was just about the rate of change. She couldn't really answer any questions. I had to get private tutoring from a college student who explained it simply and then I started getting As
Most teachers just read from a text book, and if you can also read you've eliminated their reason for even existing.
I also think chatGPT will make teachers obsolete. Dumb students will use it for cheating, but smart students will use it as a learning assistant

Growing up one of my friends Dad was asked to come in and talk to our class about his career since he was in finance / investment banking and he told us he wanted to be a teacher and started in college for it but learned they make crap money so he changed majors because he wanted to make good money. He wasn’t asked to come back to speak to the students anymore, teachers were NOT happy with him being realistic.
