He didn't "take the stand". He represented himself in a relatively informal court proceeding where both sides sat at their respective tables in front of a magistrate. He made an absolute fool of himself the entire time and the audio recorded of that one will forever be funny as fuck.

That being said, no one should try to record this one (if it were to go to trial), especially if it's Federal Court (thank you @wbgreen) because that is a jailable offense. Federal Courts will throw lawyers in jail over it even. Normies will have the book thrown at them. There are a million cameras everywhere. Don't even try it.

No joke they have cameras trained on everyone, and the Bailiffs watch every move. Everyone needs proper ID to even get through the door and every move is logged and recorded. If, for example, audio and video were to be recorded and uploaded somewhere, they will be able to identify who recorded and uploaded the content. It's not a multi-thousand seat stadium. They can narrow it down pretty easily in a small courtroom gallery.

You'd think people would stop freaking out about Pat's shitty legal cases and thinking he has a chance, but nope. Pat is a retard. Anyone he hires is a retard. Any legal filing he makes is retarded. Maybe Pat gets some kind of settlement down the line if the MPD truly harassed him and were stupid enough to leave a text trail. But the odds are very much against him because again, he is retarded. I don't think anyone ever believed Rick actually had a case. I personally always thought there was a small chance for a settlement, though, because trials are expensive and bring press that municipalities do not want. Winnable cases are settled all the time for these reasons. Settlements also come with no admission of wrongdoing and NDAs and that's often valuable.

I am very glad that this will seemingly not be the case here. A jury trial will be a fantastic plot line in the upcoming new season. Can't wait to see what happens nexxxxttttT
