I understand the point here but it’s very Pat-like to just say the crusades were absolutely violent. It was much more complex (still, yes, violent).

I don't know. I'm not a christian myself. If I'm not mistaken, those who go to heaven will be rewarded according to their deeds. Looking through a calvinistic view, it is by birth. Like people like Moses, David, Paul etc.
