Lotta interesting names were thrown around. Vincent was supposed to be Madsen and the twin brother to his character in Reservoir Dogs. The guy who plays the bartender was a candidate for Jules, and so was Lawrence Fishburne. Apparently Fishburne's 200 IQ manager advised him to refuse roles which weren't *the* lead and I'm sure he's still kicking himself over turning down Pulp Fiction.

QT wrote Jules for Fishburn and made it the top priority when trying to get people cast. He was genuinely upset about not getting him. In hindsight I can’t even imagine what the movie would have been like if he’d gotten his way.
