With right wing attacks on LGBTQ rights, abortion rights, voting rights and more, we need progressive laughs now more than ever. That’s why we’re excited to present Laughing Liberally Milwaukee, a monthly progressive political comedy show featuring Milwaukee’s top liberal and progressive comedians.
Laughing Liberally Milwaukee is hosted by comedian, cartoonist and satirist Matthew Filipowicz. Matthew’s work has been featured by CNN, NPR, PBS, HBO, BBC, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, the Nation, the London Times, Ain’t It Cool News, and the Huffington Post. Matthew also hosts the creatively titled Laughing Liberally Milwaukee Podcast.
Comedians on the June 17th bill include Kristin Lytie, Raegan Niemela, Natalie Wickman, Emilio De Torre and sketch comedy troupe The Accountants Of Homeland Security.
In addition to some of the finest progressive comedians Milwaukee has to offer, each Laughing Liberally Milwaukee features a special interview with a local activist, journalist, or political figure. This month’s guest is Heather DuBois Bourenane from the Wisconsin Public Education Network.

I don't want to go off on a rant here, but these faggots are all "rant comics". They worship Carlin, Hicks and Lewis Black because anyone who isn't spouting fanatical left-wing political shit is a bigot. What a fun idea for a comedy show, have a bunch of comedians come up and do the exact same "I'm freakin' TICKED OFF" set. "Rant" all you want, whiners, you're never going to change fuck all or make any semblance of a difference. There's literally no point to that show other than giving these faggots a safe space to masturbate. Every person in attendance is there to make their jerkoff angry statements into a microphone (that's important. That's what makes them believe they're actual comedians) and be heard, not to listen to anyone else's jerkoff angry statements. An exercise in futility.

When I was a kid I was all in wit da rant faggots. I'd watch the Dennis Miller show just for the opening monologue rant and I bought Denis Leary's angry cokehead rants, I thought Lewis Black was funny on the Daily Show with his stupid gimmick voice. I didn't give a fuck about the politics, I just thought it was funny that they were "ranting." I'm talking like before I got to highschool though.

I loved Hicks when I was a kid and then forgot about him over time until I heard Bill Burr saying he thinks he sucks and is totally overrated. I went back to his specials and outside of one or two bits he absolutely stunk. Context is everything.
