I fucking blast their texts with every stat and chart posted there. They won't listen to a single thing unless it's stated on Fox News. I love my folks, but they are dumb af when it comes to that. It's not even worth talking to them about it. They constantly make fools of themselves and get cornered by facts in conversation and just brush it aside. It's like Ronnie arguing with Fez - they just don't hear anything but the droning of their own voices.

I can't even imagine talking about politics or the news in general with my parents. My mom gets almost everything wrong in some aspect, if she actually gave a shit about any of that stuff she'd be wildly annoying. Pretty much everyone who has ever tried to discuss politics with me in person is a fucking dumbass who misunderstands everything they hear and they're also the types to keep talking about it even if you straight up say you don't give a fuck. Whine and be outraged all you want, you can't change anything.

That’s why I never understand why so many people get so obsessed with politics and make it all their side is good and perfect and the other side is evil. My state did away with plastic grocery bags and now you bring your own - whoever in my state decided and voted on that has more of an effect on my daily life than the president.

I’m the type that thinks both sides suck since it’s voting for “the lesser of two evils” also I don’t see how anyone can admire anyone in politics - politicians are known to lie and be full of shit. These types become multi-millionaires while working a job that plays nowhere near that and we’re supposed to believe they care about “serving the public”

Nailed that right there. Everytime I talk to them, they try to get on the subject of politics and I'll have to tell them to knock it off like 3 or 4 times till I just get off the phone with them. It's obnoxious as fuck. You shouldn't need a copy of Emily Post to tell you that you don't discuss politics or religion in polite conversation.
