No you really wouldn’t. As much as I don’t like Biden he is better than Hilary on both an electable level and a political level. I fucking blast their texts with every stat and chart posted there. They won't listen to a single thing unless it's stated on Fox News. I love my folks, but they are dumb af when it comes to that. It's not even worth talking to them about it. They constantly make fools of themselves and get cornered by facts in conversation and just brush it aside. It always makes me laugh that Hillary Clinton who had been in the public eye since the 90s didn’t realize she’s so unlikeable the democrats nominated a barely known black one term senator over her in 2008 and when it was “her turn” (which she wanted as her campaign slogan - like an elected position is on a term system) was beat by a guy who never worked 1 day in politics.

Even more than that Hilary was so unfavored everything you could say about her was spun as a negative where it would have been a positive for any other candidate. Lefties criticized her for being too centrist, yet Biden is arguably more center than her. People said she was too into politics, then voted for a guy in politics longer than her. Crime Bill? Hilary did that! Biden did too? Who cares, Crime Bill was actually good. Hilary worked with Trump ? Traitor! But Biden working across party lines is good negotiating.
I don’t think this speaks to hypocrisy as much as it does just how much people hated Hilary. She could have been personally saving babies and people would have found a way to make it a bad thing.

This upcoming election is really reminding me of 2004 - both picks suck and we’re screwed either way. There’s nothing exciting about either candidate and nobody is looking forward to hearing all the non stop coverage leading up to Nov 2024.

When it was for the nomination Obama having a short record in politics was a positive for him - they couldn’t bring up things he had worked on / voted for years ago that was now seen currently as a negative (like crime bill you mentioned, etc)
Then with Trump they used his no record in government as a plus - they tried to grill him on his thoughts as a private citizen because there wasn’t a long voting public history like Clinton had.
Obama and Trump - while obviously very different were seen as the “new” kind of president - a change from the old stuffy dorks that usually become president / run for president.
Then we were told the old stuff type of dork is what we need for the country and that Biden - who was a punchline for the majority of his political career - is somehow the most popular president ever.
