View attachment 126651Nice pointless anachronism, stupid.
Pat thinks he’s a clever writer whose immense talent allows him to insert contemporary references into historical fiction with a wink and a smile. In reality he can’t even wink with his ugly face, let alone with words.

Don’t forget when he got distracted from writing the book in order to verify the historical accuracy of sugar cubes.

Of course he’s ignored all of the sage advice he’s surely gotten, primarily not to edit while you write. Rule number one for almost all successful authors, but Pat is ~*~different~*~.

The funny part isn’t that he thinks his readers are as autistic as he is. The funny part is that he thinks this shit will ever be read. It won’t even be completed. But if it was, the only ones who’d bother are people who point and laugh at him already.

In the waning years of the nineteenth century there was to be found among the fops and fools of the London coffee-houses one rangy, gangling flitch called Timothy Cratchett, more ambitious than talented, and yet more talented than prudent, who, like his friends-in-folly, all of whom were supposed to be educating at Oxford or Cambridge, had found the sound of Mother English more fun to game with than her sense to labor over, and so rather than applying himself to the pains of scholarship, had learned the knack of versifying, and ground out quires of couplets after the fashion of the day, afroth with Joves and Jupiters, aclang with jarring rhymes, and string-taut with similes stretched to the snapping point.

Now that's some historical ass fiction, right there.

It's kind of funny that in Patrick's simple binary brain- MAGA = racists. Eventhough Trump literally has millions of Hispanic, Asian, and black supporters. And of course he wishes there were dead, but they're the fascists. Lol.
People like Pat purposely ignore that majority of Hispanic people are conservative and aren’t a fan of letting illegals in because they actually put the time and energy to become legal citizens. Notice they never have Hispanic people on CNN to discus the border problem? People who followed the citizen rules don’t appreciate the illegals walking in.

He literally thinks he's above the fanfic genre. There's a huge community into all that, Harry Potter fanfic, Superhero fanfic, whatever floats your boat, and 75% of the time it's just male characters having gay sex with each other.

There's been one example in the past 25+ years of something going mainstream - Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. But Patrick (rightfully) believes he is God's gift to writing, all those fanfic writers are amateurs and he'll show them how it's done.

The entire project is doomed and dummy can't read between the lines of his agent being only "intrigued".

One thing I was thinking about that I don't get in all of this is if he's going to stray so far from the source material to the point that it has nothing in common, why not just change the characters names and make it your own thing? That way he could at least pretend to have some originality and he can tell the world how clever he is writing an "homage" instead of direct fanfic.
