I'm not sure I've ever seen someone with a laptop at the bar when it's even remotely busy. Pre-smart phone ubiquity, you would occasionally see someone reading a book or writing in a notebook/pocket journal, but never a laptop. Most people have the courtesy to take that shit to a booth or table, or better yet stay home if they have to work.
