This actually makes it more believable that he works in the tech sector, as it goes a long way to explain why mass replacement with Indians is possible if the average IT worker's skill set is so limited and why software's such dogshit these days.

Why would I build my companies PCs or optimise them? That’s the tech support team. There’s nothing wrong with using iPhones for work, either. It’s puerile 2010 nonsense that the leet haxx0rs use androids.

my iphone360 was bricked today trying to power a make-shift hospital in Pacific Palisades. i talked to an apple manager who came down to see me personally and he promised to replace it with an iphone1440, which they're currently testing on Europa (moon of Jupiter or some other planet) as soon as next Wednesday though.

should i try an Android in the meantime? never had one before and want to know what the fuss is all about

I'd definitely find it kinda weird if I found out the guy who updates my satnav hasn't owned a car in the last decade. Again, it's not a literal requirement to perform the job, but how the fuck do you not manage to do that just being a regular guy, let alone one who works in the automotive industry?

Kind of but not really. Networking, systems and programming are all different skill sets. Systems and Networking usually stem from helpdesk/IT beginnings, but are more advanced. I know a ton of talented programmers that have no idea how to do anything but programming.
