I guess it's one of those things, unless you've been through it yourself you can't fully understand how your friend is feeling.

Be there when she needs you to be, give her space when she needs it. If you're the *fun guy* she hangs with for some loffs, keep being that. Sometimes people have their fill of consolation and just want someone to be with who will help them forget about their troubles, if only for a fleeting moment.
