Indeed. I keep hearing about how it’s impossible to live on a McDonald’s salary. That’s the point. You’re NOT supposed to be living off an entry level job. If you’re a burger flipper at a fast food restaurant, you should either be a teen just starting out or an elderly individual and you’re just needing something to keep productive since you’ve made your money.
If you’re in you’re thirties and you’re still working the drive through, you’re a failure and deserve to be poor.
Also I’d like to add that even the loser working at Wendy’s at 31 gets a base line level of respect from me, even though they are a loser, they are doing something and I want to see them get better and better jobs by moving up the ladder. If they simply get absurdly generous minimum wage hikes however they’ll just be removed from the work force, either because of automation or the business can’t afford it and goes bankrupt.
I also value them infinitely more than some government employee “working from home” who are essentially just welfare recipients since we pay all of their salary, even if they give some back in taxes - and in return they just make life harder for the actual real workers.
