I think people are underestimating the amount of abuse she must have gone through in the past to consider this normal. Don't forget that Patrick has never been in a fight in his life - it's all threats and bragging. He's probably never even punched a Republican-voting woman! That's all just showing off. Pat, cannot be trusted to keep any information private no matter how sensitive, has said that Niki was on the rebound from an asshole when they met.

I have a feeling that she met Pat, thought “Well the last guy made me be in a throuple with a female pig so marrying a male one is something I can do.” If that throuple guy (or any guy) was a more egregious and obvious abuser, she may have thought Pat was not nearly as bad and that she should just settle for what she could get.

What I don’t get is why anyone who’s not religious and doesn’t want kids would bother getting married — unless they are on the make. I believe Pat may have seen Niki as a come-up because her mother is financially astute. I do not believe Niki was deluded enough to think Pat was ever going to be able to provide enough to allow them to get by on one income.

Maybe they prize the tax benefits enough to risk going through a messy legal battle in the future should they divorce, but these two aren’t exactly fiscal conservatives.

It’s possible they did intend to have kids but because God is good He prevented them from procreating. By the time they cried uncle and stopped trying, Niki was married and stuck with him.

There are a lot of possibilities and they’re all embarrassing as fuck for both of them.

What really stood out to me (among many things) was how Niki looked and behaved on piggy’s NBC news story. She looked like complete shit and on some HEAVY meds which put her in a cloud.
