So a neighbour of mine that the wife and I are good friends with, his wife is one of these "Disney Adults". Their place is littered with merch that makes my stupid JR Ewing statue (I love the fucking thing but I'll freely admit it's still dumb) look like Michaelangelo's David.

I don't quite get the appeal. It's not my cup of tea, but I still have a great admiration for the quality that Walt's old animators used to churn out on a regular basis. The only time I've ever been more impressed was Fleischer's original Superman shorts, but you don't see me putting up Superman posters and replica costumes in my fucking home. She has commemorative plates, action figures still in box, sealed puzzles, even postcards. The word Gaudy is underselling it.

And then the husband is one of those Christmas obsessed motherfuckers, so I avoid him every December.
