If you want to fight gun laws then bring 5 million to fight the state to the supreme court. There's 3 in front of them right now.
Weed laws. Technically the feds could start raiding pot shops in legalized Weed states. It isn't legal federally. The optics would be terrible so nobody would do it.
It's why every time a state tries to enforce border laws it gets slapped down. It's a federal issue.

On the other hand you get to stay out of trouble if you don’t do something stupid. They still have to pay for you to get fixed up but most states have laws that they have to send you to rehab. But then if they want they can drug test you at random for a couple years. So it comes down to how much they want to fuck with you. I can’t speak to the suing part of your statement but I doubt that if it’s extreme negligence on their part that popping positive for weed would negate everything.
