God was willing to explain to Job exactly why he did what he did, and why he was wrong in hating him for it, and after revealing a slimmer of that truth, Job understood all he needed to understand and didn’t want to hear any more.

You miss the point. Job didn’t accuse God when he spoke to him, he repented for assuming he knew how God should respond to his suffering. You are not entitled to understand everything, and that’s fine.

The way I understand the suffering question is simple, if a life without hardship and suffering leads me into being a hedonistic selfish person, who assigns my good life to my own work and ability, and I do things which condemn me to be thrown into the fires with the dead branches, and not bear good fruit, then I want the suffering, and I will pray to be tested beyond my limits so I call on God.
