It's not that hard.

Protein shake and banana for breakfast

Go to a Whole Foods salad bar for lunch, pack a small box with grilled chicken and some salmon and brussel sprouts, drizzle it with olive oil so you can swallow it, and then don't pay for it.

Then pick up the same thing on your way home for dinner.
Tell your family they're on the their own.

Stop drinking anything but black coffee and water.

If you do this and work out everyday you can binge drink once a week well into your 40s and look 28.

I eat pretty ok most of the time, but it's the goddamn beer. I'm not even really doing a diet, just getting what I need and trying not to be hungry all the time.

Take it day by day, brotherman. Like today, start by skipping your usual bacon, egg, cheese on a roll…

You need to get on an old school no-sugars, no-carbs, only healthy fats diet. I'd recommend 6 small healthy meals/snacks per day and a lean and green (6oz meat and salad) at night. And, this may be tough, but stop drinking alcohol. No big deal!

And, of course the most important thing: NO FOOD AT ALL AFTER 8pm.

Yeah dude. I’ve been lifting for 12 years and I’m pretty god damn buff, but I’ve only ever gotten down to slight visible ab cuts bc of alcohol and hangover snacks. My MEALS are great nutritionally then I’ll destroy a month of progress in a weekend.

Nah, I've already gotten blasted a few times since I started, take a day off to recover then right back at it.

Unfortunately I'm just not built to have 2 beers, if I start something I gotta finish it. One or two nights a month now instead of seven days a week over my vacation this summer though.

When I was strict, I felt a whole lot better. And I maintained it for a couple of years. But it's rough to keep up.

Easiest recommendation: in the morning, 2-3 grass fed eggs in avocado oil, kale and arugula (you can make it into a smoothie if you want it over with faster, just use a couple organic blueberriesor stevia, or a decent natural ingredient protein powder for flavor), uncured meats for your protein source, and if you need sauces for flavor, my simple trick is start with full fat sour cream as a base, mix it with a clean hot sauce, and your set. Much better for you than any ranch or off the shelf mayonnaise.

Start with that. If you can get that down, and keep away from heavy carbs (especially breads), you can work into more vegetables, like cauliflower and brussel sprouts, and foods for your gut like kefir and sauerkraut, and even grass fed red meat. You will see and feel an improvement.

I agree with everything except the binge drinking part. The diet @Paul laid out is pretty similar to mine…as long as everything else is in check, the occasional drinking sesh won’t be an issue
