I’m not sure what I was thinking, I have neuropathy in all my fingers as a side effect from a drug I’m on so I can’t imagine I could effectively fire a gun with that right now. I think I’ll do it though once that goes away eventually, if I’m not dead.

I’ll get specific gun recommendations later but I’d like it to be small and light for carrying.
Shane Nokes says neuropathy is a super power. That's even better than a gun. Can you punch through buildings?

Voting to recall Charles Allen's worthless ass isn't the most effective thing you can do, but it's better than nothing.

I have so many thoughts about this. The discourse around crime here has gotten insane.

EDIT: At least pepper spray is finally legal in the District, but I'm not sure how effective it is.

My choice of carry is the FN Five-Seven or the Sig P365. The FN is a big gun and harder to conceal, but I have no issues during the winter when I wear a large overcoat. I love it because of the very strong 5.7mmx28 round, and the hilariously low recoil. Make sure you get the “Military/LEO only” green-tip rounds from FN. They’re harder to find but there are websites online that sell and will ship to you. The Sig is good during the summer, and conceals easily under even gym shorts and a very thin T-shirt.
To each their own but I wouldn’t recommend using a 5.7 for conceal carry. I’ve shot pigs with my 5.7 using 40 gr Vmax rounds and 9mm 115 gr fmj was more effective. I’ve got a Ruger 57 which I think has the same capacity as the FN, so it is nice having 20 rounds in the mag but I don’t think the 5.7 really brings that much punch compared to other calibers.

You might be able to find a range near you where you can rent a gun to find out if you like shooting. If you do end up buying a gun just get as much practice with it as you can, and that doesn’t necessarily mean going to the range and shooting. You can dry fire practice at home which will help you develop your grip and trigger pull.

Have you considered a blow gun?

Get a gun and start dealing crack and commiting burglaries so you can afford to move on up to the East Side like my peer and mortal enemy Sherman Hemsley. Also, if you mug someone and they're totally compliant, hit them a few times anyways cuz they white.

Get a concealed carry license. It doesn’t matter where you live, all states became “shall-issue” after the NYSRPA v. Bruen SCOTUS case in 2022, meaning that as long as you meet basic requirements, the issuing authority is legally required to issue you a license. I have concealed carry in NYS and NYC (two separate licenses required in this dump, believe it or not) and carry pretty much daily, as any sane person would in this shithole.

My choice of carry is the FN Five-Seven or the Sig P365. The FN is a big gun and harder to conceal, but I have no issues during the winter when I wear a large overcoat. 🤣 Love that FN seven five= F/N Killer! Nice piece for sure. Had no idea there's a handgun with 5.7mm rounds. 👍

Sig is probably top choice for make, model and dependability from what hardcore funster gunsters say!

My first (and only as of now) is a Glock 19X. Peanut butter proud. It's a beast for a first time carry (full size grip/compact barrel), but still hides well with a proper a Kydex hybrid holster even under a thin t-shirt. Almost no profile. I always carry with one in the pipe ready to rock n roll with no safety, steel jacketed hollow point. Much less likely to through and through. Nobody needs a goddamn accidental, unintended victim because of a FMJ through and through!

USE YOUR 2A to maximum effect is my advice to anyone wondering whether or not to carry/purchase. It's just common sense once you make the leap.
