Can't go wrong with the Kurosawa to be honest wit chu

Also Bergman watches pretty good

Kurosawa is always my answer.

See Ikiru, it's fucking transcendent. So of course Hollywood is trying to do a modern remake.

Ignore that and watch the original. Then wait a day and watch Sanjuro and Yojimbo to balance it out.

And when you find yourself questioning the sanity of Man, watch Rashomon.

Oh shit, how the Fuck can I forget German expressionism?

Can you stand silent films? Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Nosferatu, Faust, The Golem, Spies, Metropolis, and the Dr. Mabuse series are excellent.

Actually watched a version of Nosferatu that had I think it was either type o negative or my life with the thrill kill cult as the background music to the entire movie. It was actually pretty cool.

I just saw that movie Dogtooth from Greece. Weird as hell and I loved it. I like non-Hollywood stuff because the directors basically get to make their own films. Does anybody have any foreign movie recommendations?
I saw the title of your post and thought of dogtooth as well. I know Korean films are getting a lot of press lately but they are all the same formula, plus Orientals have a fear of wet girls. Every horror movie of theirs is a wet girl

If you have any interest in the magic of movie making as gay as that sounds Day for Night is the best movie about the making of movie. Pretty funny too. I had a dumb smile on my face the whole time I watched it.
