Ever made a faggy expensive impulse buy that makes you sick when you think about it?

Abe's thread about bike fags made me remember i bought a 5000 dollar mountain bike earlier this year that ive only ridden once.

I guess its an expensive lesson to never do shit like that again so maybe the 5k saved me money in the long run. Thats my coping strategy.

I also went to a michelin star restaurant once and the bill was 1000 for the cheapest menu. Shittiest fucking food ive ever had. The performative service is so gay too.

Did it appreciate in value?
Strangely, it didn’t.

And this was ~20 years ago when that was real money. It would overheat constantly when playing games and so I ended up using it mostly for AIM and IRC while I played games on my desktop PC. I didn’t even leave the house that much so it was a stupid idea even if I had got something practical.

Actually there was a time when I was still in school and working so I was 18. Minimum wage, part time job, so I probably made less than 4000 a year.

I took one of my paychecks and gambled it. I turned around $100 into $1000. I gambled that and turned it into $4000. Then I gambled that and turned it into $9000.

First time I had ever seen that much money and I couldn’t believe I had basically made double my salary in less than 2 days. I then proceeded to gamble more and turn that $9000 into $0.

But it’s just money, right?….right?

I bought a house. Never really got attached to it. Still live it and stuff but it's just a place. I'm not ready to burn it down because my stuff is in it but if it happens @Martin comment, it happens. Plus having a pool sucks because I barely use it and think about the cost and how everytime I do use it it's an $800 swim.

I bought a hottub which is the one impulse buy i dont regret. Your pool is how i feel about my bike. Working out how much each ride would cost and feeling sick.

$5k for a bicycle? i bought a low end dual sport motorcycle for just a bit more than that and it wasn't even used

What did you buy? I love dual sports but I get the faggy trail ones.

Have a Honda CT125, Kawa 230SM, and two TW200s.

Also there are bicycles in excess of 10-20k.

xt250, and it was actually the tw200 i wanted at the time. anytime a dealer near me had a tw200 in stock they'd be sold by end of day, if not a few hours later.

i'm all in with the faggy trail bikes tbhwy. it's nice to have the option to ride on the road if you want or need to, but i have virtually zero interest in riding around urban areas or on the interstate. i usually just hitch the bike to my truck for camping trips and shit like that.
