Why would it be cancelled? Some crazy old family morals clause? Or was this the best excuse he could come up with to avoid child support since I’m sure he wasn’t making close to that in commission because we’ve seen his work ethic. And when did he have agents? Imagine Pat was your boss? My god…
Only thing I can think of is that he was paid entirely or at least mostly on commission. It’s hard to garnish commission at times, because if the policy gets canceled you can get what’s called a charge back.

Depends on the company, I don’t know how United healthcare works.

But for some insurance companies, you get paid a commission which is technically in advance, and if the person cancel the policy before a year has passed, or 18 months, or six months, or whatever, you have to pay back the commission because at least a portion of it was advanced to you.

If you are working in a team environment, that could also ding the paychecks of the people above you and below you.

It's not that, it's when you renew your insurance agent license, they check and make sure you've been paying any child support payments you owe, and they do not allow you to renew a license if you're a deadbeat fuck that has child support payments in arrears with no intention of paying. What a wormy fucker

Now the question is, does he claim her in his taxes?
not American or a parent but I assume you have to list the kid's SSN and the taxman automatically looks for kids listed as dependent by multiple people the same year and deals with that.

Their divorce looks pretty standard other than the "no child support because he'd lose his job somehow" bit.

Yes. if more than one person claims a dependent, both get a letter to send proof they can claim them and the child tax credit portion of any refund is withheld.

Not trying to be a dick but Anthony's divorce make it sounds like it's a nightmare, losing half of your shit is normal but with anths case he had to pay her for the potential income that he may have had. So not only patso didn't have to pay anything, she let him kept living the life he had, something is not right

I looked it up Wisconsin has no specific alimony rules and it's case by case. It's a more open state that way than some that fuck one person hard. Utah is also a good one to get divorced because there's mandatory alimony after 10 years so you dump them at 9 and they get nothing
