Just be honest and admit it was all succumbing to cult of personality (Torquie's, Snake's), and people here feeling collectively 'pounding' on the guy who was delivering the goods was worth more than the goods delivered.

This I agree with. To us Jon was nothing more than a character in the Patrick saga. People acting like they knew and loved him was/is bizarre to say the least.

The guy stole his best friends pregnant wife for Christ sake...He wasn't a real life Saint.

Actually Jon wasnt Pat's best friend. The confusion came from Pat's blog post/horrible writing where he alluded to moving with his best friend.

Jon said he only knew him on their nerd forum and met for the 1st time at the con.
