Controversial opinion: Jimmy ruined O&A.

GOD DAMN RICH CUNT

Not all comics were willing to hang with the show. Some guys just wanted to show up, plug, and leave. Guys like Louis CK and Patrice started out that way where they would just tell a joke from their act, plug a gig, then leave. Like when JBL showed up and Vos remained on the show and they kept attacking each other. Some comics simply cannot do that type of radio.
Did Norm seem like that type?

Pretty much all comics that were not friends of O&A hated doing the show or were always nervous. Same with Stern. Patrice said on O&A how much he hated doing Stern's show when they were off the air because you just didn't fit in at all. But with O&A you never knew what insane thing might happen. O&A had comics get arrested or involved in stupid stunts. They had comics get their worst stories revealed on air. Huge fights and blowups. Your past being brought up by callers out of nowhere. Having them hang on the phone on you or mess with you.

Florentine did O&J after his wife cheated on him. And he came onto the show just to plug gigs. Opie put one of Florentine's neighbors on the air who said that Florentine caught his wife banging a cop even after Florentine told him "don't take that call". Publicists hated O&A. Like when Colin brought his publicist during a Bobo prank and wanted him to leave the show for good.

Like imagine going on O&A as a comic just for a plug. And all of the sudden homeless and drug addicts are on the show. Callers are asking you if the house next door to you was sold to niggers? Gallagher flat out told both O&A to cool it with the race talk and jokes because he was not comfortable. Within ten minutes of that Anthony said something like "The first guys to do Gallagher's act were those firefighters in Selma in the 50s spraying down the black with water hoses". Also Gallagher repeatedly told Patrice he didn't want his first name said on air....then Patrice called him "Leo" no less than fifty times in the span of an hour.

Norm was not like Vos or Bobby or one of the Cellar guys where he would fit in and hang. He was a 'front of the bus' guy like Patrice said. He was someone like a Gallagher who just wanted to plug or talk a little. Even Joe Piscopo was a far superior guest than Norm.

IT WAS A YES OR NO FUCKING QUESTION.

Jim Norton has a weird resentment against Norm Macdonald. He didn't laugh at any of his jokes at that Roast where they had an exchange on air, AND he even started doing dumbass "shrug" gestures to the crowd like What the hell is this guy doing>??? YOU'RE supposed to be UP THERE telling the truth, TELLING IT LIKE IT IS! And making people deal with it!!!!!!!!! THAT'S CALLED BEING A COMIC!!!! No, not making people laugh, and finding different ways to do so. But going up and saying AIDSYYY shocking things.

And then he kicked Norm off the show. Another moment where Opie said, Okay, I don't wanna open up Norton's can of worms with his guest hounding.

OPIE WAS WORKING WITH 1 GUY WHO SHOWED UP HUNG OVER, LATE, OR CALLED OFF. AND 1 GUY WHO WAS ON HIS PHONE THE ENTIRE SHOW, AND HOUNDING GUESTS FOR PHOTOS AND SIGNATURES!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A MARK

I think the worm was offended that Norm “disrespected” the roast by doing something different. I haven’t seen his set from that roast but I’m just going to assume Norm’s experiment got way more laughs than “Bob Saget should slip on a puddle of AIDS!”

It’s jealousy. Norm had done it all - TV, movies, comedy. He had his own show, was regularly featured on late night, and hosted a well received podcast. He was a legit gambling addict and even though he went bankrupt, he was funny, respected, and rebounded.

Jim Norton’s name doesn’t even come up in the same sentence as Norm. He’s known for Chip, being a sexual degenerate, and playing third wheel to two aging shock jocks, one of them being a scared alcoholic racist who was sexually attracted to.

Patrice telling Von on the air to look up Gallagher's name and text it to him was some funny fucking shit
