Carol and I will make it down here (to South Carolina), somehow.

I’d really love to hear how Joe will try to convince Anthony to pay for him and Carol to move down and retire in SC. Joes gotta be freaking out realizing it’s not just gonna all work out that he’s avoided working his whole life and has put nothing into SS. He will have to work for peanuts until he drops dead playing mediocre cover songs in the corner of a moose lodge for a crowd of 6 people.

Boomers like him are lucky they’re getting SS while generations after them will most likely not be getting it and Joe still fucked it all up.
“Listen up, Layler. It’s about time you stopped being so lazy and started supporting your family and contributing to the household. Lemme hold $50.” “Come on, dad. On my wedding day?”

My huge-cocked pal stole my wife and PUPPIES!
I’m unfortunately dealing with the same entitled boomer mindset in my own family. I’m family, so I need to give them handouts indefinitely and they don’t even need to be grateful for it.
Hearts, thoughts, and prayers.

It finally dawned on him that he will reach retirement age next week, yet has saved no money and won’t be able to collect social security (65, don’t know dick about retirement) so now he has to scramble and find a way to make the moo-ve down (beg/bully/convince his younger brother to pay for it).
Hey you put some respect on his name he rightfully stuck his hand down his "Li'l" bros pants when he was sleep and said it was a moth

They should be teaching it in school to prepare the kids for the future. Then again, I’ve known people younger than me who refuse to participate in their jobs 401k because it’s not money they can use “now” - talk about a Joe Cumia mindset.
They are teaching college kids right now to plan for social security to be gone. I'm an older college student and was happily surprised a math class had a whole lesson on general investing advice and why social security isn't reliable.

Well that’s good to hear, they didn’t do that when I was in school / college but that was almost 20 years ago. I graduated college right before everything crashed in 2007 / 2008 so I hope they started teaching things you should know / be prepared for.

My friends that are all around my age know next to nothing about investing because it wasn’t taught in school / college for them.

I'm 38 and just now smartening up on my finances. I've always been really good with saving. I grew up underachieving white trash. I'll probably not being wealthy when I get older but hopefully can have a small comfort nest when i'm old and busted. I pray every day I don't end up a Joe Cumia. If by 50 i'm not where I want to be I have no issue with taking my life because it's doubtful there will be big improvements past that point.
