What "80s pandemic?" Is he talking about AIDS in that instance as well? That wasn't a pandemic, that was Godless sodomites getting their just do.
Exactly - it was “pandemic” that only was an issue for people having lots of unprotected sex with infected people. Not exactly something that was an issue to the general public.

Agreed, it comes from his self-centered, childish, egoist worldview where nothing exists outside of his own awareness. It's also a particularly Boomer way of looking at the world. I've always contended that the upper midwest (MN, WI, MI, IL) is the epicenter of the Boomer zeitgeist, and that their regional culture of passive aggressive judgement, phony manners, and uncultured rubism is really a geographic extension of the Boomer dream - the Rust Belt being what's left of it.

Rick is and has always been a Boomer. Even when he was a child. His immature and self-affirming worldview serves him even better now than it did in his younger years as he's now growing into Boomer age where his mindset makes the most sense. There is something very childlike about Boomerism and Rick demonstrates this perfectly.
Interesting with the childlike and boomer comparisons - my father had a very similar mindset for years where he could only understand and comprehend things that happened to him in his life. My mom worked in hospitals and she would tell him about seeing people come in that were obvious domestic violence victims or children being abused by their parents / family and it was completely foreign to him because he hadnt seen anything like that growing up and didn’t know anyone who had. It’s taken him pretty much until 10 years ago to break that mindset.

He's been here and has learned his lesson; ironically from your arch nemesis Jenna shitting on the same thing. I will genuinely pitch your ending though. I like that.

Thank you.

A stranger could heal cricket back to full health, his burns and deformities cleared away. The gang could try to exploit this stranger with whacky schemes but this time it doesn’t end as a continuing sitcom. The show ends and they’re all tossed into the lakes. You could even preach some fake woke message about how Mac being gay doesn’t get him condemned (it would in real life of course) but his rancid selfishness etc does.

My father is the same way - anyone who makes more money than him is a scumbag and anyone who makes less is a lazy bum. He only understands people who grew up in an upper-middleclass Buffalo suburb like him. My mother is even worse.

We talk a lot about how zoomers end up in echo chambers on social media and can't think independently, but at least with the internet they have the ability to broaden their horizons if they want to.
Boomers only knew what Walter Cronkite told them on tv and didn't question it.

Rick is the opposite - he has the entirety of the internet at his fingertips and no job taking up his time or preventing him from learning about whatever he wants, but instead he chooses to get all his info from MSNBC and Twitter.

Rick Johnson: The Last Boomer.
Thinking further about this my dad is such a boomer because he didn’t go to college and pretty much worked one place forever - he has been in the restaurant industry his whole life and worked his way up to owning a good amount of successful stores so he’s his own boss and all but really is limited on life experiences compared to my mom who went to college, working for years in high positions in various big pharma companies so her would view its much different than my dads sheltered one which prob explains why he’s been married 3 times.

Rick being so sheltered from already living in fly over country and having next to zero life experiences (no college, married first girl he could, had his wife have to get him jobs, etc) and at 43 has the mentality of a 65 year old pig headed boomer.

I have a boomer cousin that is 61 and was married for over 30 years and his wife died about a year ago from cancer. He’s one of those types that we didn’t know his wife took care of EVERYTHING for him and we’ve learned mentally is like a teenager without her to keep him in line. We’re talking not even a year with her gone he’s gotten himself in all kind of financial shit from being a close minded boomer not understanding how things work. He doesn’t even know to use a computer or have any concept of money / paying bills / etc. and we found out he’s been taking out real stupid loans against the value of his house. Fawkin Boomers!

Is there a more Boomer take than "ban AI before it ruins art?"

I'll admit, AI scares me and will probably lead to millions of people without jobs and living in squalor under the weight of federal dependence. Sure. But who's fault is that? Rick was part of the liberal crowd who defended Biden (or was it Obama, I forget) when he told industrial workers to "learn to code." As cold and out of touch as it may have sounded, it wasn't bad advice. Now, however, the shoe is on the other foot for Rick and he can't handle it.

To BAN a new technology because it makes you uncomfortable and you're incapable of seeing how it can be used to your advantage is the most Boomer thing ever.

I don't understand it and can't profit from it, so ban it!
Okay, Boomer Rick.
Typical boomer logic from Pat - I don’t get it so it must be banned and illegal! He still thinks anyone that made money in crypto is evil and belongs in jail because he wasn’t smart enough to get in early - make money - and get out.

I mentioned my boomer cousin who lost his wife and his boomer logic of actively avoiding learning how to use computer at the most basic level has really come back to hurt him. He’s worked factory physical labor jobs his whole life and recently he’s had a heart attack and heart issues to the point he can’t be cleared to work his job he’s had for decades. Now he has to find a new line of work in his 60s that doesn’t involve physical labor of any kind and nothing involving computers as he’s way too old to try and figure it out now. And these are the types that are proud to be set in their closed off to the world ways!

You guys keep forgetting Rick is autistic. To the autistic, everyone thinks like them and people who think differently are deeply upsetting to them. It's called Theory of Mind.

"Frith’s interest in theory of mind in autism began with a test to identify the age at which children can reason about other people’s mindsets. She and her colleagues adapted the test using a story about two dolls, Sally and Anne: Sally puts a marble into a basket and then leaves. Anne takes the marble out of the basket and places it inside a box. When Sally returns, the clinician asks the child where Sally will look for the marble.

By age 4, most non-autistic children and those with Down syndrome can answer correctly that Sally will look in the basket, Frith and her colleagues found. The children understand that Sally holds a ‘false belief’: She does not know that Anne has moved her marble. By contrast, most of the autistic children they assessed, including those older than 4, could not answer correctly, suggesting the difficulty was somehow specific to autism."

There you have it. Jenny is literally more retarded than a downsy.

No, child. The marble is not in the basket. That is one of your many, many delusions. Enjoy prison.

You don't have young friends Patrick. You don't have any friends. And you don't have to worry about it because you abandoned your only child.
If this isn't a complete fabrication from his fat pig head, he probably just saw someone tweet it. I fucking hate this guy so much.
And since Pat has never once mentioned Always Sunny before this how did they get onto the subject? His lies are so ridiculously nonsensical and only exist so he can make his "point" every single time. I bet he sat there for a while Googling actors he can use for this tall tale.

In hindsight yes but consider when AIDS was booming people didn’t even understand how it was transmitted. It was groundbreaking when I think it was Princess Diana who shook hands with an AIDS patient or something.

And that, sure, fags were the main source of death, but average people got infected too (mainly due to the aforementioned lack of knowledge) and the Government started to give a shit. When they started giving AIDS blood willy nilly and infecting kids and women thats when people realized it was serious. Not to mention junkies but people care about them less than fags.

Even though I didn’t live through the 80’s i can see how at the time people would be fucking freaked out by it - Especially the blood transfusion part where no one would really know if they were giving or receiving blood with AIDS.

Oh and Magic Johnson…BIIIIG MAGIC JOHNSON.

HE’S GOT AIDS!

That was a true turning point because that wasn’t some Rock Hudson faggot but a man in his prime.

Edit: And not to drag this on but it’s like COVID. People freaked out about it not knowing what it would do or how easy it spread. Now in hindsight we laugh at all the mask shit the same way we laugh at people being afraid to be in the same room as an AIDsy.

However one could argue at least COVID was more a mental panic than an actual pandemic. Killed 6 million people but AIDS has killed 40 million. (Yeah yeah yeah…its been around longer but think about it from inception to “cure”, which doesn’t even exist for AIDS still.) And theres 100 million people in the world with AIDS who are going to die from it. Thats not just a mental panic but an actual “pandemic”

Doesn't know about the Sopranos, just let that sink in. It changed everything, it flipped TV into being the best medium for art from the big screen. Shows became 10 hour movies. He is totally retarded.

Hey sweetie, if you've never sucked a dick you are NOT a faggot. Stop stealing gay valor. It's pathetic.

The truth is you are a tedious loser. You're not intersting, and you're clearly not gay. Please kill yourself. Genuinely.
