Host is used to host events not do a game show. Although it can be used and understood but I suspect that's just an Americanism that's got in. A presenter presents a show on TV or radio.

Bit tricky as informal talk radio like O&A wasn't really a thing it's either sports, politics, panel show type things or music. Even big stand ups/comedy acts had to play songs etc. Radio guys would be a presenter or DJ if they did music

Host would be used more for someone presenting an awards show or literally having people over their house but it's not like nobody would understand what host meant and it's often used.
