The answer is right there, too; don't feed the animal until they show some fawking manners. Come near me at all when I'm handling MY food that I give to you? No food. I had two cats and a dog that would all sit next to each other at the threshold to the kitchen and wait for their food to come out. The one cat needed a little spritz of water directly in her face every now and then to remind her but other than that it was PFG.

Once they understand that they only eat when you decide they deserve it they're much more polite. That dog would sit at his dish drooling and taking peeks at the dish - I'd leave the room and listen to him whine until he finally came into the room and put his head on the floor then I'd let him go to it.
