You could call the records office about coming in person. Call them and tell them you're driving in from out of state and that you just want reassurance it'll be ready by the time you get there.

I have no doubt in my mind he'd get fired on the spot if someone reached out to his employer though about his online activities. If Pig's story ever gets traction in the news and Dan is named, it won't look good for the company, and Dan has indirectly referenced his employer when talking about getting a new deal and so on. Even if Pig is notorious for blundering lawsuits, no one is going to risk getting involved with one because of Dan's online activities.
