When I went to (healthcare school) it truly opened my eyes. We were fed only the arguments FOR what we were doing. One day I asked “I know we think these people are crazy, but what does any research say about the claims they’re making?” - I wanted to be educated in BOTH SIDES of the argument.
I was not only shut down I was treated like an insane person and an asshole. I wasn’t even saying it to be contrarian at all, I literally wanted to understand the basis for the opposing arguments to be able to discuss them or better argue against them with patients.
Now, I don’t ever buy the party line on anything and Covid really reinforced that. Blatant lying “for our own good”. The truth is less important than someone getting mad at chinks. It’s from a research lab and anyone with half a brain knows it.
