I’m not. At one time their rate of diagnosis was zero. Then they learned about early intervention and therapy and the rate went up. Recently all adhd diagnoses were added to autism diagnoses and the numbers shot up again. It’s a relatively new field with a wide range of symptoms and degrees of issues. Causes are being studied and things like iPads have been found to cause similar behavior among non autistic kids so the numbers fluctuate more due to categorizing and diagnosis than creating a generation of kids different from previous generations.

Placate some, for others it is to motivate them to keep the kids active and in therapy etc. Just to manage behavior, proper sleep and special diets seem to help the borderline kids more than drugs. So there is a spectrum of autism, diagnoses and treatment.
