I used to have it pretty regular years ago. Sleep paralysis in the literal sense, never saw any freaky apparitions, thank fuck.

It stinks because your body falls asleep but your mind stays awake. Your breathing slows down to a minimum and you're obviously fucking paralyzed so you spend a little while panicking and trying to will your body to fully wake up before it does. I had it recur a coupla times a night in cycles untill I finally fell asleep properly because I exhausted myself enough I guess.

Never figured out what caused it or made it go away. Definitely true that you eventually get used to it enough to kinda power through it.

Never made the connection but they used to depict these demonic entities a lot in old paintings. Haven't had it in years but when I was a young degenerate I had it one time. A very tall presence of pure darkness standing over the side of my bed. It was very unsettling.

The only thing I have had is one summer break where I would stay up til 5am playing on my PS2 I eventually went to bed. My head hit the pillow and I heard as clear as day my mum say my name right in my ear. I span around and jumped/shouted it was so real but there was nobody there. It wasn't like hearing a voice in a dream it was a real physical feeling of someone being there saying my name.

I stopped keeping Anthony Cumia hours after that.

Fucking terrifying. I havent had it happen since high school but I didn’t see the demons it was more just my eyes open staring at my wall unable to snap out of it.

Now what happens is I lay in bed trying to fall asleep and half dream that im taking a step down and I jerk my whole body awake

They say if you think you're in a dream the quickest way to spot that is to twiddle your fingers like you're playing a piano. That's not sleep paralysis but fuck you. Last time I had that I heard some demonic voice counting down from 10 and I thought I'd die once he hit 1

I joked earlier but all I see is red like you're shining a light at my closed eyes.

The dark figure is what I would see. Something like this:

That's also very close to what I saw. Standing over my bed on my left hand side. It's very weird to me that people would all be independently imagining this same thing. Personally I don't believe in the "everything is just chemicals" explanation for everything. There's no way for me to prove it was a demon, but the whole experience felt very sinister and ominous. I didn't believe in any of that stuff at the time so that just added to the confusion.

Used to happen to me in my early 20s. Shadow figure presence in my room, scary as fuck. It would happen more often if I took a nap during the day.
