Never had it. It sounds fucking terrifying. It's pretty fucked up that everyone who has it sees the same entities. Like the hat man or the hag or the red eyed demons.

Had it regularly in my late teens and early 20s. The feeling is being mostly conscious but unable to move or speak. The demons are a form of hallucination. I always saw the dark figure with red eyes. I would panic and only be capable of moaning until someone else woke me up. Terrifying.
More recently I had it, but I didn’t see anything. I just thought I heard the sound of footsteps running up the stairs.

I sleep on my side and have a pillow over my head and get it. I don't see anything unless I sleep on my back though. Usually, I can hear people in my house and can hear them walking towards me or busting shit up, but I can't move. It's a really fucked up helpless feeling and I feel like a faggot pussy when I wake up out of it, which is way worse than waking up feeling like a regular faggot every other day.

Sometimes when I'm right on the verge of falling asleep I'll hear a big bang in the distance or glass breaking. It's usually when I'm already paranoid about idiots fucking with my shit too so I'm never sure if I actually heard anything or not and have to get up and check. It hardly ever happens anymore but there was a while where there were a bunch of bums living in the woods near me and it happened multiple times a night. My dog is a thousand years old and pretty much deaf so he's no help.

Sometimes I'll have that weird feeling where your brain wakes up before your body does and it feels like you can't move for a few panicky seconds, but never anything strange like demonic hallucinations. I just heard a radio show host talk about this shit this week including the hallucinations, sounds freaky as hell.

It's called exploding head syndrome. I had that for months 2 years ago and it was the worst. It also would happen during dreams there would be a loud bang and I would immediately wake up with my heart racing.
