The idea that snuff films are a myth is a claim that has been around since reports of their existence started coming out. It's absurd on its face. You can find all kinds of cartel torture and execution videos online, which really aren't that different depending on the definition being used. And that's just on the clearnet. The idea that people can film murder and pornography separately, but that it's somehow impossible for the two to be mixed is retarded. All kinds of evil shit gets sold on the black market and the dark web. I think these claims are put out there by the people involved to muddy the waters and cover their tracks.

ISIS recruitment videos are pretty much snuff films as far as I can figure. They're filming murder to try to get recruits and cash donations.

There's also a guy who claims he saw a video shot on a floating child brothel off Amsterdam where someone chokes a boy to death with his hog. It might have been accidental. Still, pretty close to the definition.

I've heard that was a decent movie but man, that is some bad acting. On a related note, Burke went to jail for civil rights violations because he beat the shit out of some junkie who broke into his car and stole a duffle bag. The bag allegedly had sex toys, bondage restraints and homemade DVDs. He said they had men in masks sadistically beating the shit out of tied up prostitutes and that it looked like they were going to kill her.

I had a philosophy professor who was a PhD from Yale and he said he used to go the Village and avante garde art houses, and he said he saw a snuff film. To paraphrase him, it was either a legitimate snuff film, or the best special effects that he had ever seen.

It's kind of crazy that snuff films are a real thing and the last time a big studio released a film on it (8mm), it was either too much/too dark for people to watch or it was treated like an unintentional comedy because the acting (thank you Nicholas Cage and Peter Stormare) was so over the top, it was impossible to take seriously.

Just because Rex killed a couple of hookers doesn't mean that Burke and his weirdo sex club pals didn't kill a couple of others. They absolutely did. The mistake everyone made was burying the bodies in the same place so after they found one, they found them all. I blame that first lady for nagging everyone until they looked for her kid, like she deserved special treatment. A few more years and everything in that marsh would have degraded to the point where no DNA other than the victims' would be recoverable. I am actually a little surprised that the mom from the Netflix special didn't find herself buried there before she could call the news

I knew him and his brother growing up, later on I worked with him, most of the podcasts I've heard are chock full of misinformation about him. He was a weird kid, obviously had some problems but this shit came out of left field. I was surprised when I first heard he found a woman no less got married. Becoming a serial killer and strangling prostitutes is only believable in hindsight. His house did look like a serial killer's house, and it was a house he grew up in and bought from his mom, so we all missed something over the years
