Can’t wait what hijinx she’s get up to together with Mark Antony. Sexy lil’ nymph!
The only thing that sucks about season 2 of Rome is that they knew they were getting canceled so they stuffed like 3 seasons worth of shit into season 2. It pisses me off because they were eventually going to get to a storyline where they showed Jesus Christ up to and including the crucifixion from the point of view of the Romans, and they never got to do it. The show had really good ratings but it was just too expensive to make.

I think only CBS is still doing sitcoms with laugh tracks, probably because they’re known as the old people network. Maybe fox still does some? It’s crazy to think how NBC used to dominate in comedy sitcoms / shows for decades. I can’t even think of the last recent funny show on NBC.
Yes Thursday night was nuts I think the cast of Friends were even payed several million per episode, child

Yeah I remember they held out in the early 2000’s until all the main cast members were making a million an episode and I think that was the first show to do that. Seinfeld was close to having each main cast member make a million an episode for future seasons but that’s when Jerry decided to make that season the last as “going out on top” and the rumor was the other cast members hated him for it because it they just did 1-2 more seasons they would have made a million each (seasons usually had over 20 episodes) which was huge bucks in the late 90s for TV. The 3 other main stars of Seinfeld were making good money but I remember 1 million episode was unheard of in TV at the time. Jerry fucked them out of a lot of money.

I knew somebody would connect the dots. You know that REALLY pissed off the other main members since Jerry was making so much more as Star AND co-creator and he pulled the plug right before the others would have gotten a record pay amount. I remember his “reasons” were “I want the show to go out on top, not a couple seasons too long” even though the last season wasn’t as good as previous and they were starting to get wacky storylines previous of seasons wouldnt have done. Jerry pretty much never had to work again while Jason Alexander and Michael Richards had to take shit sitcoms that were cancelled quickly. I remember the Michael Richards one was right after Seinfeld ended and was so bad, he was a private investigator or something? He did that and some movie around the same time that was also a huge flop. No wonder he got so angry on stage at the Laugh Factory.

Well to sum it up - Jerry made lots of money as Star / creator, cast was ready for upcoming contract talks for more seasons, NBC was going to pay the other cast members a record million an episode for future seasons, Jerry said “No thanks. I’m ending it now” and didn’t understand why his cast members didn’t feel the same. They even called it “The Seinfeld Curse” since everything the 3 stars not named Jerry Seinfeld did after the show failed. He cost the other main cast members something like 40-50 million each pulling the plug.

What did he do after that show other than actors I despise driving around talking?

Nothing really, him and Larry David never have to work again. The show ended in the 90s but is still in syndication on cable and on streaming services. Him and Larry were also lucky to cash in huge when the show seasons were put on DVD back when people bought those. He did an animated movie, did some marriage show for NBC, and the comedians in cars show.

Julia Louis Dreyfus came from a very wealthy family so she didn’t have to do anything right away but Jason Alexander and Michael Richards weren’t so lucky and had to take whatever they could get which were shows that were quickly cancelled and forgotten.

Sitcoms = Goyslop

Procedural drama = Copaganda

It's funny to watch networks bend over backwards to pander to boomers because they still watch television. A bunch of BLM lovers producing authority porn to senior citizens is funnier than sitcoms.

I’m not a fan of family guy but I remember early on they had a joke about CBS making all their shows for boomers. They were mocking JAG and had the actors on the show breaking the 4th wall and talking to the senior citizens viewers. Whenever I watch football games on CBS and see the ads for their shows im also stunned people still actually watch them. They can’t have any viewers under 40 for all their original programming.
