Funny you mention that, as I've read some of the medium, but usually the more mature oriented stuff, like Garth Ennis. Preacher was incredible, and I actually liked his Punisher. Read like a modern, twisted Mickey Spillane story.
I thought Garth Ennis was great when I was 16 and a faggot.

Now I'm an old faggot who realizes I wasted the beginning of my prime fuck years reading "edgy" comics.

Ray, your long hair and leather jacket is a costume. You're in your 50s. Let it go already.
Exactly. Especially since he's let  himself go since the late 2010's. The man is a fiend for kielbasa and kotlet schabowy.

WWAWD Ronald Perelman buying Marvel in '89 and letting Marketing and Sales into the writers room?

WWAWD marketing and advertising being more important then production?

WWAWD Hollywood in its 3rd generation of nepotism so the product is inherently shite?

WWAWD green screening everything so anything can be changed during the market research of 4 different teaser trailers?

Writers can't write, actors can't act and advertisers only know how to turn up the volume. Sorry, it's been a werid week.

Oh I agree, most of his other shit is just that, shit. I gave up on him decades ago. But I still have a high opinion of Preacher.

It protects my cold, cold heart.

Shave your head, hit the gym, stop with the prostate cancer drugs and minoxidil

No. Sometimes. Haven't had to touch them yet and how the fuck did you know?

Exactly. Especially since he's let  himself go since the late 2010's. The man is a fiend for kielbasa and kotlet schabowy.

You'd be right if you said uncured bacon, nice try wit da hate though.

I don't want to be one of those cunts that says it's not like it used to be, because that's Rose tinted glasses. Old Hollywood was a mess and a popularity contest even then, it's just that stars were stars. You don't have that anymore, IP is the stars. Even back in the day, when movies used books to source - things really haven't changed, even if it's shittier books - the star name was the bigger deal, and now that's changed.

I still watch Chaney's Phantom of the Opera and marvel at the sets made by hand, ones that existed for decades. Green screen loses me.

Also nice werid, stupid.

I'm really glad I've never seen a single one of these dogshit movies. The last "comic book movie" I saw, if you can even call it that, was the Batman movie with fat Alicia Silverstone.
You missed out on Logan, old faggot. Spiderman 1 and 2 with Tobey McGuire hold up well enough.

The MCU thing was interesting when I was younger just because seeing your childhood superheroes in live action/CGI was cool. I was kind of done with everything a couple years before they got to Endgame (horrible name). Since then I haven't seen anything but they appear to be complete shit.

All I watch anymore are da Birds, Flyers, and Phils. :sniff:

I can't get into the Netflix show. Maybe it's the actor, I don't know, but the story is shit too.
I think he was better on the Daredevil show. What kills the story in his series is making the whole conspiracy behind killing his family. Punisher works best when it’s a random act of violence that takes his family. It’s my biggest gripe with the Tom Jane film too since it was just Travolta getting revenge against him and then him getting revenge back.

"The Boy From Oz" felt like a reach here, despite us all being familiar with musical theatre.
Hell yeah.
Neither was Thomas Jane. Perfect voice, the extended cut is... Watchable, at best. But like Lundgren, who made that movie at New World - Corman's company he sold off, and then after they bought Marvel (can't make that shit up) - Jane's movie was made at Artisan, who probably couldn't even afford a cup to piss in. The only movie that ever had a budget was Warzone, which is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I can't get into the Netflix show. Maybe it's the actor, I don't know, but the story is shit too. I love the concept of a character like that - it's the type of character that reminds me of so many spaghetti westerns and old pulp novels I grew up on, that it transcends being comic shit.

Oddly enough, closest to a good and realistic Punisher movie? "You Were Never Really Here" with Joaquin Phoenix. Rough watch, though.
I haven't played it but apparently the PS2 Punisher game that Jane did the voice in is the best adaptation.
I did think he was great on season 2 of Daredevil though.

Fucking hell, I remember that game.

I was a Mega Drive lad up to my late thirties, some later games on the PlayStation were alright, but I was checked out by then. Only a handful of games after ever caught my fancy, and that was one of them. Didn't play much but loved what I did get to play.

I've never been more nauseated and felt more detached from society than I did watching Deadpool in the cinema. People were laughing themselves into hysterics at every lame gag, while I just sat there brooding, man 🪱

Oh hell yeah. I do like some of the Hugh Jackman motion pictures though. The motion picture where he tortures a retard for kidnapping his keeid. The motion picture where he's a gay magician. The motion picture where he controls a Battlebot. The motion picture where he's Eddie The Eagle's coach. The motion picture Swordfish with the John Travolta where he plays a swordfish. The motion picture Chappie, where he again controls a Battlebot. I think that's pretty much it.

The Prestige is good.

You couldn't pay me to watch Real Steel or The Greatest Showman.

Swordfish is shit except for Halle's Berrys.

Reminiscence is one script polish a away from being a potential classic.

His romantic comedy films might as well be at the bottom of the ocean, because he's as believable as Charles Nelson Reilly in a straight porn.

The X-Men films are throwaway entertainment that, while less embarrassing than an MCU film, are to the 2000's as Charlie Chan movies were to the 40's - you churn em out for a quick buck.

BUT, I'll defend Days of Future Past as a rather excellent science fiction film, and Logan as just a great movie, period.

Real Steel is retarded but I actually enjoyed it. One of the best Battlebot movies of all time.
