It's ok. Worst album. I unironically like the original demo better.
The original self titled one is the only Mr. Bungle album I really like. It’s one of my favorite albums of all time though.

It's really good, but it's so juvenile compared to the follow ups. There are other bands from that era that tried to match up the first Bungle album and are dog shit and a ton of bands after that had no idea what made Bungle rad so they just played shit music where they go from metal riffs and zany vocals and then surf rock or middle eastern shit.

Troldhaugen is probably the only other Mr Bungle style band I stll listen to. Idiot Flesh had a couple of decent tracks and I liked both Darth Vegas albums, even though they pretty much fit your description of just smashing different genres together.

Idiot Flesh's second album is terrific. Their first is too cartoony. They later started Sleepytime Gorilla Museum which is one of the best bands ever. Darth Vegas/Dog Fashion Disco/Tub Ring/Estradasphere are all shit. I'll check out Troldhaugen. The death metal band Imperial Triumph is actually close to me as a band that almost gets Bungle right and they sound nothing like Bungle.

Dog Fashion Disco were such a disappointment. I liked a few tracks from Experiments in Alchemy, then everything else was lame and recycled.

I'll have to revisit Idiot Flesh. Don't expect much from Troldhaugen. I mostly just like their 2nd album, which has a stupid long title I can't remember. I feel like I'm chasing the dragon with all these bands anyway.

Clown Core's fun, but Louis Cole's main project, Knower, slaps pretty good.

Yes, I'm gay.

He's very talented, love Knower as well.

Clown core reminds me vaguely of another genre I was too stoned to really pay attention to in college. It may have just been ICP, which I guess these pseudo-jazz nerds separate themselves from

If I remember correctly Dog Fashion Disco did music for one of the two prequels for the Exorcist and one of their tracks was lifted straight from Hymn To Heaven's Radio/Hymn To The Morning Star by Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. The second Idiot Flesh album is just solid as all hell. The first is a remnant from their days as Acid Rain and the third is a little too goofy but still good.

Yeah I think Fancy is the album I listened to the most. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum are so fucking good. I got into them by looking around for stuff similar to Swans and King Crimson. I'd never really compared them to Mr Bungle (not sure why when it's an obvious comparison). I really wanted to like Black Midi too but his vocals get on my nerves.

I'll have to check out that other band you mentioned, Imperial Triumph.

Acid Rain/Idiot Flesh/SGM were around at the same time as Bungle. Members of Bungle have said they enjoyed Idiot Flesh. I just saw SGM on their most recent tour and they are still amazing and flawless live. New album was good too. After SGM broke up members formed a similar group called Free Salamander Exhibit which was pretty good too. Imperial Triumphant are pretty rad. They are this weird mix between black/death metal, jazz and avant-garde. Their whole thing is 1920's post modern, world fair societal decay shit. If you can tolerate growled vocals then they are a hit in my opinion.
