Ukraine is our ally. 90% of active duty Russian military men are either dead or severely and permanently disabled. Putin looks like a clown to his own people, Russian economy is fucked (so is Germany's but whatever), signal sent to Xi to leave Taiwan alone. It's also a signal to our allies that we will have their back, and a signal to countries that are on the fence about us that they can feel safe siding with the good guys. The vast majority of Ukrainians want it, so it's not like we're forcing them into a meat grinder - they want to fight for their homeland and we are supplying them with the means to do so.

This is a valid criticism. We did take risks, but they were measured. We slowly eased the restrictions as Russias "Special military operation expected to take 3 days" turned into a several year conflict. We don't want to tiptoe the line, but we also don't want to allow our enemies to do whatever they want and steamroll our allies just because they have nukes. Mr. Putin obviously knows it's game over if he pushes the button. A wise thing to do would be to negotiate an end that would ensure that he is safe and taken care of and has something he can show to his people as proof that they "won".

I see videos on twitter of drones videoing Russian soldiers laying in a trench and just blowing their brains out and it makes me sad. I get Russia is the aggressor but I’m sure those individual soldiers don’t want to be there

I've watched too many of these, on both sides of the war. It's just so fucked up. While hilarious in the scenarios, just a pure waste of life on all sides.

in the night, some dude crawls out of his foxhole to take a shit, [drone drops grenade on him while shitting]
line of soldiers walking up road, fpv drone strike. The uninjured just shoot the injured in the head and keep marching.
plenty where they are just sleeping in the bushes and a drone drops a grenade on their head/ass/chest/back

ones where the drone drops a grenade and the guy is injured. the drone waits around above him while he has a smoke or phones his loved ones, then drops another grenade on him.

Plenty of other fucked up footage. Some of the drone footage where its multiple drones co-ordinating as spotters and targeting is pretty cool.

Then you got China who just broke the record for having the largest drone swarm light show (8100 drones sychronised)

The new use of small drones is wild to see in action. I guess it’s cost effective to use a single drone to blow up one guy.

Watching them helplessly run away or try and unload their guns at a little drone flying towards them would almost be comical if it wasn’t resulting in the immediate dismemberment of some poor fucker
