I'm generally skeptical when it comes to how media portrays climate stuff but I think this is a silly thing to go all fighter_sm over. These aren't Antarctic ice sheet readings or esoteric shit like that, it's the actual fucking temperature across half a continent. If they were lying about it then any dope with a working thermometer could've disproven their numbers and hundreds of millions had the opportunity to do so.

I don't think anyones lying about the temperature, they're lying about it being abnormal. Ocean levels aren't rising, glaciers are growing, and there's plenty of recorded temps from 100 years ago beating the current ones.

40 degrees in the UK is absolutely abnormal. Some places have been in drought conditions for over a year with water restrictions in place and we are a pretty green island that traditionally has enough rain
