And I doubt the political machine would want a Kennedy to get that type of power given his family history. I remember Samantha Bee and her husband being opposed to NYC school redistricting that would bring more poor and black (redundant) kids into their upper west side school.

Eventually they took their kids out of that school.

The 'where' all depends on how third world you can tolerate. What terrain and weather you prefer. How urban or rural.

The standard of living in Costa Rica is higher than most parts of the US, especially the cities. Then Mexico>Belize>the CA4 countries ranked whichever way suits you.

As far as work, I don't know. No problem getting internet in most places you'd want to live so a WFH gig is fine. Most corporate assignments want you to habla Espanõl.

In general NYC likes immigrants, but there is no sense in letting texas dump their immigrants and keep the federal money. So the mayor makes a little stink and the feds send us money. Most of the immigrant neighborhoods here get cleaned up quick and their kids win all the spelling bees. Even while illegal, it is rare to find much unemployment in those neighborhoods, they aren't like West Virginians who whine about being unemployed since the 70's. "3 generations of unemployed hill folk in this family, aint none of us had a job since the mine shut down" I would take 1000 immigrants before 1 racist redneck moron. I've noticed the places that complain most about immigrants are the places where the natives can't compete with them, after their kid gets cut from the soccer team or can't fit in the honors classes anymore it becomes their issue. Get used to it, there are more coming our economy is booming and we have a worker shortage, every Ecuadorean worker is calling his cousins and telling them the good news.
