Honestly, I think the old school versions might be more correct. Dinosaurs are all just big green lizards that will chase you. You're not going to be riding them to work in the quarry or anything like that. The Flintstones was clearly pure fiction.

Just stay away from the big lizards and wait for the ice age and make sure you have some decent fur-lined loin cloths. Wait them out. That's how we beat them.

I like it tbh. The updated portrayal of dinosaurs as more bird-like (and almost mammalian in some cases) does make them feel more like real animals that you can picture running around. People poke fun at it but I personally think them being more like birds is actually scarier than them being big scaly reptiles. There's an activeness and intelligence to birds, they're inquisitive and jittery. It's cute in a magpie but not so much in an animal that can look you right in the eye.



Same with the noises. The T-Rex bellowing and raptor snarling from da movies is classic, but there's something creepier about them rumbling, hissing, chirping and mewling. They feel way more alien.
