Why would you bother putting in work to keep chasing a dollar when you can do a "sure thing" and make a deal?

That's what he's doing. Fuck the TV show. Nobody watches it but they won't cancel it. Why WOULD you put effort into it? Focus on what brings in the cash... Licensing the brand to other outlets.
