He was a huge MDPV fanatic. He had many completely insane ideas as to why the first batch of PV that hit the market was “stronger” than all subsequent batches. He had a total meth-head process for “making the new PV stronger”.
He used it as a sex drug. He specifically believed it increased female libido more than any other drug.
At the end of the day, I tried every cathinone from that time period except a-PVP. I genuinely don’t think anything (including John’s precious MDPV) is better than meth as a purely hedonistic sex drug. MDMA is obviously a superior “making love” drug… but for chemsex I think meth and GHB reign supreme and always will.
Edit: and as regards MDPV, the one-armed chemist who invented MXE saved some PV from the first batch and tried it years later, and he said it was exactly the same high as the “newer” PV. People like John were just reacting to the first time novelty effect.

a-PVP can be pretty sexual (in the 'get weird' kinda way), me & the gal of the time used to vape that & a-PiHP (with some vaped Etizolam to take the edge off), compulsive redosing is a bitch tho' & you can easily go a bit crazy.
