What gets done with the body after you run it over? Asking for a friend, of course. Well, not my friend. I don’t have any.

Max sentence for vehicular manslaughter is 6 years. With no priors or no gross negligence, you’d do much less than that. Im taking the prison time.
I heard of someone doing only 1 year for killing someone while driving drunk, granted it was the 80s
If the kid ran out into the street would the driver even be charged?

A guy who made the conscious decision to abandon his kid with full knowledge and forethought is a total piece of shit. A guy who accidentally hits a kid that runs out in front of him was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
