There is an insane amount of corruption in the government there which is what led to Baltimore being the shithole it is now and why it will never get fixed. They can't/won't even keep the squeegee kids out of busy intersections near the harbor from terrorizing tourist.


Fawk I forgot about AC. One of the most depressing places I've ever visited. Went up there years ago for a friend's birthday and will never go back. People aren't kidding about how sketchy it gets if you go just a block from the boardwalk. I've felt safer in Baltimore at times than I have in Atlantic City.

It really is beyond saving at this point. At least with Baltimore there are parts you could save if they really took action against getting crime off the street and removing all the corrupt people elected out of their government, but it won't happen because it's a city that will always vote blue since Republicans are racist.

Atlantic City on the other hand is too far gone and just needs to be demolished. Unless you're going to the Borgota with Nana none of those casinos are nice anymore either. Stayed at Resorts and it was literally next door to a motel that had an alley with all the crackheads hanging out.

The only casinos in AC I go to are Harrah’s and Borgata. mainly now it’s Borgata. They are set out by the Marina, so far enough away from the riff raff. Once there, I don’t leave the casino for anything. I go strictly to gamble. The dining options are great at Borgata and I usually will catch a comedy show too. Last time I went I saw ex-Compounder, Aaron Berg. He’s decently funny. Plus the tickets were COMP’d.

I think next time I go I’ll stay at the Water Club and chase Joe and Lyle out of the pool area.

My home town's once isolated, dangerous, black neighborhoods are getting gentrified and all of the rabble is moving into once white areas. I've got more in my neighborhood than ever before and the place is already going to shit over it. Dog shit everywhere, litter and garbage that was never an issue before - it's the beginning of the end for my once quiet community.

The thing that really pisses me off is I grew up in a shit skin ghetto, worked hard to get out and make a good life for myself, and now the same mother fuckers are coming in and turning my nice neighborhood into a slum.

Fuck em, I'm getting out. I'm making moves to relocate to NH, VT or ME.

Yeah the only decent casinos are on the marina since they aren’t directly surrounded by the ghetto like the boardwalk properties. I remember a couple years ago the AC mayor got arrested for some big assault outside of a casino late night all drunk. But since he’s black and democrat nothing happened to him and he’s still in charge. You make one wrong turn in AC while driving and you’re fucked. Some of the ghetto homes look like they were hit by a bomb.

Borgata really is the only Vegas type casino in AC and why they’ve been the number 1 property in terms of revenue since they opened in 2003. The numbers they do are usually what 3-4 other AC casinos combined do. Last time I saw Norm was at the Borgata in Dec of 2019. He went well over his time and didn’t give a shit they kept flashing the “1 minute” light.

If for any reason I ever find myself in AC again I'd spurge the extra cash and stay on the Marina without a doubt. Even if you stay on the boardwalk, go outside any of the casinos and you're going to be panhandled and harassed by junkies and have to be subjected to how rundown and shitty the boardwalk is. Half of the shit on it is closed these days anyway.

Probably wont count but it's an hour from Buffalo, New York, so at least give it consideration - St. Catharines, Ontario. I didn't realize the police still had to bulldoze tent cities until I discovered this place. And these aren't refugee camps, these are home grown junkies, so not even the most liberally minded jackoff can come up with an excuse for why they exist. Empty needles in every parking lot. At least 1 in 3 people on the street are speaking loudly to themselves, and it's not a fancy new headset.

I was born and raised in St.Catharines and finally left around 21. The north side where I lived was nice. It was near Lake Ontario and Port Dalhousie where they filmed a few rowing movies. But...downtown was always a little sketchy. I've heard it's gotten worse in the past 15 years or so. I'm curious what part of the city were you in?
