Imagine you finally get to see Europe for once in your Wisconsin 4 life and it's with this blowhard dope constantly restating what he saw on the last plaque as though he thought of it, day drunk and wetly coughing because your introverted obese body can't handle international travel. All while being ignored as your newly found soon to be debtor husband takes 100s of photos for social media in which you figure into about 3.

Obviously the Germans are Nazis, so they had to be last.
But Venice is in Italy, and they were an Axis power...
So, Rick is actually a Nazi.
He's just too dumb to realize it
Fuck I hate his guts. I too didn't like Paris, but I just don't like cities, I hate Athens and NYC too. Once I was out of the city France was fucking gorgeous though. There's also a way he types that's so fucking irritating you can hear his smugness

It's been said already but Venice is probably the worst city to go to in Italy. You can do the whole thing in like two days. Unless you are fascinated by small boats offering you expensive, short rides (like Pat seems to be), by day two you will be bored. When I was there I even ate Burger King once because the "authentic" options were so limited and boring (at least compared to the rest of the places in Italy I went). And yes, it's jammed with tourists. At least with Rome (another place jammed out the ass with tourists), you get amazing history and sites. Venice is just small with a few cool things.

We did London/Paris/Brussels/Amsterdam as a family trip last year, and I rank them:
Amsterdam
Brussels
Paris
London

Next time my wife and I are starting in Amsterdam and then going to Germany.
I'm not going to pretend to be Rick Steves or anything but if I might offer a suggestion, if you base your vacations around food at all, swing in to Luxembourg if you're planning to start in Amsterdam. When I did that area a few years back, Luxembourg had the best food. The sights were cool but the food was incredible. No matter where we went, the meals were excellent, and there's a few (reasonably priced) Michelin star restaurants we didn't even go to because all of the cheaper, non-descript places were so good.

Is *any* of this authentic Mexican food? It looms like the Mexican I get in [expensive nearby city]. Tasty but typical American-style Mexican. I guess I’m being stupid because of Pat is a rube idiot, waTer is weT, eTc…

It all looks like shit you could get at a scuffed TGI Fridays. I hate it when third worlders get cocky about their slopp, where do you think half the spices came from dum dum? das rite, whitey on a boat.

It's been said already but Venice is easily one of the most tourist trappy places in Europe. Once you've strolled across San Marco square you've essentially seen it all. The rest of your day will be filled with expensive and boring ferry rides to sightsee leper colonies built on far-flung islands in the lagoon.
One place I wanted to visit in Venice was this church, Santa Maria e San Donato. I think it is in Murano, north of Venice. They got some whale bones there that look pretty cool.
