I’d swap those percentages around. He was never the person in charge, and he has no fucking spine. That’s why he cowered when two fat retards had a spat about niggers. The “Opie was an asshole and was secretly in charge, we were all afraid of him!” Schtick has aged very poorly. They needed him that day way more than he did them, clearly.

Even before he was fired, I tried watching one of his basement shows and it was complete shit. They are all too hurt and stubborn to admit they need each other
I did very much enjoy TACS for a while and I think he’s the only one that could have made good shows by himself. Norton really only works as a sidekick and Opie needs to be surrounded by talent. Remember when Sherrod showed up late (lol) and he fawkin panicked and had to call E-Rock in because he couldn’t even talk by himself for 10 minutes.
It's this. Like it or not, both he and Norton need someone steering the ship, be it Brothaman or even Sam. "Happy to be there Guy" should have been happy to be there, because he genuinely has no clue what the fuck to do with no direction, before or now.
The alcohol ALWAYS affected his career. He was a drunk loser during all of the WAAF and WNEW years. And became even worse on Sirius. There were multiple points during the Sirius-XM years where management threatened O&A with Anthony's firing if he didn't go to rehab. But for some reason Opie managed to get Anthony out of trouble. Likely out of a sense of loyalty but also refusing to ever side with management. When Anthony beat his girlfriend and announced he was going into rehab they all treated it like it was a long time coming.
The show also hyped him up. He was "Professor Anthony" yet had a middle school education basically and no critical thinking skills. Having a pea brain like the niggers he mocks where he is chasing one simple high or fix to the next. Such as gambling, drinking, pornography, crack cocaine, and whatnot.
Anthony told a “charming” story on TACS recently about how when he would show up late to work 5-10 minutes into the show Opie would make some comment on mic. Ant goes on to say how this is a pussy move when management could hear and he would get bitched out for it. Of course he took no personal responsibility for it. Opie knew that was the only way that nigger could possibly understand. If he said something off air to him it would either be excuses, a confrontation, or a half hearted apology only for him to continue being late. For all the ragging Ant did on Di about being an irresponsible drunk who placed booze over her job, well…..
The whole “professor Anthony” was tongue and cheek at the start. He wasn’t an actual professor in being smart on complicated subjects - He could tell you how to do random shit like install AC duct work. Compared to Opie and Jim who never had a real job in their lives, that sort of weird knowledge was useful to the show. But after a couple years of that nickname and a few too many invitations on Fox, he genuinely considered himself to be some sort of knowledgable political pundit. A legitimate professor. Yet all of his talking points come straight from Fox news. Out of the three Anthony was definitely the smartest, which isn’t saying much, and it got to his head. Do you think if a nigger went on the radio, called himself “Professor Antwan”, and the extent of his knowledge was random manual labor facts Anthony would have a problem with that? Of course. Because to Anthony, knowing these facts is some charming endearment. For a nigger they only apparently know that because they’re stupid. My point is is that he’s black.
The fact is is that Jimmy will always be a bigger failure than any of them. People wanted to hear Ant solo no matter how shitty it is. Hell, people even wanted to hear Opie solo just to see how bad it would be. No one ever mentioned wanting to hear from Jim unless he was teaming up with Ant, Sam, or Opie. Yes he has a comedy career that predates O&A. But most comedians, especially if they’re not lauded as the best of our times, don’t want to just be comedians. It’s why so many of them try to make the jump into pundits, authors, actors, etc. Norton failed with his advice show. With his talk shows. With his cartoons. With his stupid Chip show. With fucking everything he has done on his own. It’s saying something when the biggest thing in his career now isn’t even his comedy - it’s fucking Jim & Sam.
