Why is all customer service / resolution stuff so excruciating now? It’s always been bad but now it’s just obscene.

If you have a very real grievance with something, it’s next to impossible to have it resolved without doing battle with countless layers of offshore reps and wasting days or weeks chasing it up constantly.

I know that’s the point, they make it so unpleasant you don’t bother, but it’s become totally ridiculous. To the point if you actually have something resolved relatively quickly it’s shocking.

Shit is super annoying. I even have to do this battle to give THEM money, for some reason I’m not being charged for my internet and phone, it just isn’t billing me. I upgraded my account and since then it’s not charging me, and I have to fight to get it working again. They’ll most likely eventually notice and then report missed payments on my file, it’s exhausting.

Ever try to call the cops with a non emergency situation? Its fucking literally impossible to talk to someone. It would be easier to find a cop on the street and just ask them.

But nah, I did have to take a family member to the ER recently and it’s fucking insane how awful it is there, now. It’s like some kind of third world warzone. This is somewhere you wouldn’t think would be that way, but it still is.

I know what you mean. I try to do everything I can as local and as small as possible. Even that's becoming an automated nightmare. Nothing works unless it's exactly within the bounds of whatever "rules" are in place.

When I was like 17 my Xbox 360 got device banned, I was bummed out but I was actually modding it to cheat in halo 3 and get a high gamerscore so whatever, it was my fault.

I bought a new one, which was a big deal because I worked part time at McDonald’s and it was a lot of money. Then I got an email apologising for the error and how it wasn’t meant to happen.

Anyway, I’m rambling but I sent them my receipt and they sent me a brand new Xbox and refunded my purchase. I don’t know why they also sent a new one, but I ended up with 3 consoles. It was super sweet.

It may have been the last time I was ever really happy, half a life time ago.

I’m as guilty as most people but I do go out of my way sometimes. I just bought a new dishwasher and I made sure to get it from a local store who actually does the job themselves so I don’t get some shitty subcontractor from Lowes who will dick me around. Also I do most of my banking with a credit union who employs American people. It’s a fucking pleasure to call them when I have a rare problem and they take care of it quickly and with real concern.

Hate it if you want but it’s the truth. You can fly Qatari Airlines and shit like that and get great service if you want but if you’re getting on some American Airlines cattle car then you get what you deserve

You see that “large customer policy” some implement now? Where fat people get the seat next to them left empty for free and they get special belts. I am not joking about this, it’s real and people get bumped from flights for it.

Hence the whole "people used to dress up when they got on an airplane", everything lost it's prestige once people got to start doing it in sweatpants.
