I remember wanting to play Sega CD so bad but my parents were right to say no because it flopped hard. I did play some games via emulation and it was decent.

Was always a PlayStation man, and thought anyone else was a huge dork.
That's what replaced Sega for me. It was still the "cooler" system.

I had one. It was called a Sega Mega Drive in the UK.

Bought the mini version during lockdown "for the kids." It has 40 games on it including most of the classics - Sonic 1 and 2, Streets of Rage, Earthworm Jim, Ecco, Street Fighter 2, Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Tetris etc. Controllers are the same size, just a small console. Fuckin thing rules

I had a NES and then got myself a Mega Drive a few years later when they were dirt cheap. I preferred the NES. I liked a few games on the Sega but it was inferior and I always thought Sonic was pretty terrible compared to Mario. People compare them like they were on a similar level, but Nintendo were always ahead. Mario 3, the gold standard in platform games, was already out for years before Sonic 1 hit the shelves.

I got that one and the SNES one. They're great but it is lame how they don't come with wireless controllers. That's such a basic feature these days.

It should, but the wired ones do add to the nostalgic factor. Annoying sometimes though

Night Trap for Sega CD really freaked me out as a kid. Not so much for the villains themselves, but just the vibe of switching between security cameras and hearing the quiet ambience, and anticipating seeing something. Too bad the game sucked overall.
