One of my friends is Welsh and he swears haggis is great. I've never eaten oatmeal and thought, "you know what would improve this? All the garbage parts that are better suited for a dog."

But even if it were great, it doesn't excuse the deep-fried everything. Scotch whiskey is of course great though. Irn-Bru's a good drink I suppose.
I've asked a few Scots what Irn Bru tastes like and they never give me a decent answer. I'd just order one on Amazon if I didn't hate pop.

Haggis is fucking delicious and I say that as someone who didn't grow up with it. It gets a bad rap because muh organ meats in stomache, but what do dummies think sausage is made out of? Everything sounds gross if you boil it down to its most clinical definition. You'd never want to eat mushrooms or anything fermented again if you did the same shit for them.

The irony is that haggis is easily one of the mildest offal dishes, because of all the oats, spices and more 'muscley' organ meats. The average tube of liverwurst is more funky than haggis.
Even liverwurst isn't even mostly liver, and I'm sure sausage is not mostly offal. But I get your point, because some people avoid lamb because it's "gamey". Lamb chops fucking rule though.

Is it similar to anything that regular Americans would recognize?
Someone else said Fanta. So it's just fucking orange soda. So any of the times I asked a Scottish person what it tasted like they could've just fucking said "orange soda" instead of making it seem like some totally unique, indescribable elixir.

"It tastes like Irn-Bru, lad. Nothin like it."

The "Fanta with less sugar" that @Riccardo Bosi came up with is pretty good. It doesn't taste like orange soda specifically, it's just soda. I was expecting a distinct flavor since it's so tied in to National pride for them but it's pretty generic. Only tried it once.

I guess they changed the formula about a decade ago to evade a "sugar tax" from some gay UK law. Maybe it used to be better.

Ramune from Japan is the superior international aisle soda. They come in tiny little bottles where you need to push a marble through the top before you can drink it for some reason.

I watched a video showing how to open that RRRRRRRAMUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNE stuff one time. It's needlessly complicated to the point of being funny.

So not orange soda at all. The world outside of Canada is so big and confusing. Oftentimes frightening.

I'm just going to buy a bottle of the shit.
I haven't had one in years, but a cold can with a cooked breakfast, or at least a bacon roll, was my go-to hangover remedy back in the day

There's a definite citrus tang, but I never got any orange flavour from it, and, like I said, it's mixed with an artificial taste that's hard to put your finger on. Probably because it doesn't exist in nature so there's no obvious comparison

I'm going to buy an Irn Bru today just to make sure I'm right about what I said.
